The 20th anniversary of Hot 97′s Summer Jam brought all the hottest hip hop artists to one stage, and HollywoodLife.com was there to see it all.

On June 2, the crowd at MetLife stadium got quite the show from Summer Jam headliners Chris Brown, French Montana, and the rapper who put on the longest and most well-received act of the night, Kendrick Lamar. But what really brought down the house was the shocking surprise guests that were brought out, in true Summer Jam fashion.

Chris Brown Gives Ladies Exactly The Performance They Wanted

While we were a little surprised that Chris came out so early, we couldn’t help get out of our seats for his amazing performance. He rose out of the floor, and was the only performer who had backup dancers.

However, that didn’t stop him from doing some seriously awesome dance moves on stage.

He opened with “Beautiful People,” then led into his 2011 hit “She Ain’t You” — a song that seemed like an odd choice since he’s been back and forth with Karrueche Tran and Rihanna.

The crowd went really crazy after that, when he took his shirt off and sang “Strip.”

His performance also included “Look At Me Now,” “Don’t Judge Me,” and “Fine China.” He brought out Sean Kingston to sing his verse on “Beat It,” and then Fabolous for “Ready.” Altogether, he was an unforgettable performance.

Nicki Minaj’s Surprises Fans On Stage

Although the inconic group Wu-Tang Clan did hit the stage, the crowd really enjoyed the younger artists. 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar both put on amazing performances towards the end of the show — and brought out a ton guests!

2 Chainz surprised the crowd by bringing out Nicki Minaj to rap ”I Luv Dem Strippers” and “Beez in the Trap.” People were shocked after she backed out at the last minute in 2012, after Hot 97 publicly dissed her. While the station forgave her for dropping out, it seemed the audience didn’t as she didn’t get the warm welcome from all.

We’ve got to also mention that two of her not-so-great friends made surprise appearances as well. Mariah Carey – who has butted heads continually with Nicki on American Idol– joined Miguel on stage to sing along with “Beautiful.” Later, Lil’ Kim, who has publicly dissed Nicki in the past, came out with Fabolous and performed “Queen B–ch.”

Summer Jam Surprises: Saving The Best For Last

French Montana closed out the show, which surprised the audience itself since he wasn’t the biggest artist there. However, we all know we could expect more shocking surprise guests.

Unfortunately for the crowd it wasn’t Jay-Z, although many rumors were flying that he was backstage.

To perform “Pop That,” French welcomed the legendary Rick Ross followed by Lil’ Wayne. Although it was pouring rain at this point, the crowd didn’t care and were jumping along with Weezy and Rozay.

What did you think of Summer Jam’s lineup this year? Let me know!
