The outspoken designer is at it again! Although he apologized for his crude remarks it doesn’t sound like much has changed, targeting the same two women in a brand new interview and admitting that he doesn’t regret his comments!
These days Karl Lagerfeld is as famous for his inappropriate disses as he is for his work as the creative director for Chanel — and the 79-year-old designer is at it again! Karl attempted to explain what he meant by his infamous diss to singer Adele back in February 2012 but instead he wound up putting his foot in his mouth, yet again — and he didn’t sound like he was the least bit apologetic!
Karl Lagerfeld Disses Adele — AGAIN:
In promo clips for CNN’s Fashion: Backstage Pass, Karl attempted to clarify his Adele diss — but instead he wound up insulting her all over again! Not only was his comment out of line, but it also didn’t seem to possess a shred of remorse. “I never said that she was fat, I said that she was a little roundish. A little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilo [17.6 pounds], so I think the message was not that bad,” he tells the host, Anita Cho.
“A little roundish,” certainly doesn’t sound like apologetic words! Back in February 2012, Karl told the Metro, “The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”
Karl Lagerfeld Disses Pippa Middleton, Yet Again:
Adele isn’t the only lady to fall victim to Karl’s harsh remarks. In fact, he also infamously dissed Kate Middleton‘s sister, Pippa, saying, “I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.” While Karl tried to clear up his statement to Grazia back in September 2012, he still isn’t done talking about Pippa’s looks!
When Anita asks Karl flat out, “You did not like the face of Pippa Middleton?” He responds, saying, “No, I think her sister looks better.”
While it was rumored Karl apologized to Adele by sending her a bevy of Chanel bags, we’re starting to think there isn’t enough Chanel in the world to make up for his unapologetic, crude remarks. I guess we could bet that we won’t see either Adele or Pippa in any Chanel anytime soon!
Anita goes on to ask Karl about his regrets, saying, "Do you every regret anything that you say?" I doubt anyone was surprised when Karl responded with: "Not really."
What do you think of Karl’s remarks? Are you shocked that he’s still targeting these women in such a superficial way? Do you think it’s time for him to just stop talking?
